Lynne Ellen Kershaw began taking Pilates lessons in 1994 to help with back pain resulting from scoliosis. She trained in Atlanta, New York and Scottsdale, AZ to earn a Stott Pilates Level II certification and opened Pilates Metro in 2001. Lynne Ellen is the only Pilates Method Alliance Gold Certified instructor in Alabama, the first GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor in the state and a GYROTONIC®‚ instructor pre-trainer.  In 2007 Pilates Metro became CoreVibes Studio, incorporating Pilates, GYROTONIC® and Power PlateTM exercise methods. Montgomery and the surrounding area.

Transitioning to becoming a Pilates instructor from being a teacher of dance was not a difficult progression. This progress required certifications which I have since received from STOTT Pilates and PMA, [Pilates Method Alliance], as well as a personal training certification from AFAA, [Aerobics and Fitness Association of America]. My belief in ‘growth at any age’ has been strengthened.

My career in dance contains my fondest memories. I performed with the San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, on the Broadway stage and on television. My free/lance work brought me to teach and choreograph in Munich, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Seoul, Salzburg and Montpellier in the lovely and charming South of France.

Pam experienced her first Pilates mat class while working in NYC. It was love at first try and sparked a passion lasting over 2 decades. After spending years in weight rooms and on cardio equipment, she was more than impressed with the strength, fluidity and precision that Pilates brought together. In 2004, Pam discovered Core Vibes (formerly Pilates Metro). She also discovered GYROTONIC®, bringing a new strength and depth to her Pilates, relief from the back pain that accompanied her scoliosis, and a greater awareness of the importance of movement. It resulted in Pam pursuing her love to the next level and studying GYROTONIC® at her college alma mater - Florida State University. Today Pam has the unique distinction of being the 2nd certified GYROTONIC® instructor in the state of Alabama. It is easy to understand why Pam remains so excited about teaching when she says, "With the exception of my family, nothing has brought more satisfaction then seeing the improvements in the lives of my clients."

Beginning in 2004, Pamela worked with 4 different trainers in Montgomery, AL, Jackson, MS and Memphis, TN to obtain her Stott Pilates certification Mat and Reformer Level I. She continues to educate herself in order to increase her depth as an instructor. Pamela is a Wisconsin native who enjoys the outdoors and raising her two boys with her husband Walter.
